Ok, some quick updates on the release – based on the revised project strategy I recently explained

Release Plan for “Verschluckbare Kleinteile

Verschluckbare Kleinteile, the first release in this #secretalbum project, will be released later this year. Mark the dates in your calendar:

  • Public Release: Thursday, December 13th 2012
  • Fan-only Prerelease: Thursday, November 15th 2012

This fan-only release will be for all the people involved in this project, or my fans (meaning people who previously had downloaded one of my albums) – so you should receive your personal download code on November 15th. If you don’t – please contact me!

Call for Reviews

Of course, I like it if the stuff gets reviewed (good or bad doesn’t matter – every press is good press ;) . So, after you receive your download on November 15th, you have roughly one month to write a review – which I’d like you to publish on December 13th, the public release date. Thanks already!

Tentative Track List and Progress

In the last few days, I have been working on finalizing mixes for the tracks which already have been completed. These are (in no specific order)

  • Die Kraft der Wassersuppe (featuring Kevin Kissinger on Theremin, and myself on 20 synths),
  • Microambient (working title),
  • No Tango,
  • Shalom Sister (with Matt Erion on double bass, and Ralf Gruber on recycled drums),
  • Bottom Freezer (Alun Vaughan on electric bass guitar, Jan Kühner on two electric guitars, and Christine Caulfield performing a fridge solo),
  • Aqua Negra (again Gruber on drums, Luke Cyrus Götze on electric guitar, and myself on Wavestation),
  • Orgeldings (working title), with me programming a virtual organ, and consulting by Dr. Bruno Sommhammer and Lauren Readhead,
  • Paul,
  • Sachsenbohne (working title),
  • Sunshine Biscuit (featuring Krispen Hartung on processed guitar),
  • Klingelton (working title), with an added electric bass guitar by Rhys Anslow,
  • Wehgetan in Florenz (with the wonderful Theatro Blu audience doing background vocals),
  • SID’s impeccable design, and finally
  • Verschluckbare Kleinteile (the title track with Wolfi Schlickhorn on wonderful soprano saxophone).

Open Items:

There’s some tracks where I still await recorded parts from some artists. These are:

  • Promenade (grand piano by Neil Alexander or failing that, by myself, electric guitar by Jan Kühner and double bass by Todd Matthews),
  • A Dance Song (missing is the trapset courtesy of Guido Kremer),
  • Halbwegs Leer (all acoustic guitar solo, which will be done by Daryl Shawn),
  • An Expensive Name for Frozen Water (still waiting for Neil Alexander’s grand piano – failing that, it will have to wait for Verschluckbare Kleinteile 2).

Next Steps

The parts for the open items will hopefully be done by end of September. In the meantime, look forward to some track-by-track descriptions, including audio here!

Yours,

Rainer
