Ok, this #secretalbum will be some very eclectic (sic!) affair, and there will be a lot of tracks – guess I already mentioned that. So how to organize this?

A look back into history: when Modest Mussorgski wrote his „Картинки с выставки“ – Воспоминание о Викторе Гартмане (or Pictures at an Exhibition), he built those individual pieces of the composition, which at large were very diverse, around a recurring theme – the Promenade (which, mainly in Ravel’s orchestral arrangement, has found its way into ringtones and whatnot) – which was in the process always somewhat modified and rearranged.

While working on something entirely else today, I came up with this little ditty, which lends itself beautifully for such an application. Without further ado, here’s D.R.M’s very own Promenade – sheet music to follow!

Update:

There’s now a second version (for string section), as well as sheet music for both versions.

Update:

And here’s a third version (trombone section plus cello).
